From Puppy Preschool all the way through long-term maintenance life coaching for canine Grad Students, Muzzles Up programs are individually designed to address the specific needs of you and your dog! Some of our primary dog classes are structured around the primary needs for dog parents:

ON-SITE BEHAVIOR COUNSELING - Controlled, safe, and gradual exposure to stimuli using reinforcement to create positive associations with various situations. These classes include one-on-one animal evaluation with environmental assessment for the first session. We provide in-home or public venue based sessions focus on using creative solutions to address specific challenges and strengthen the bond between you and your dog, and make living together a symbiotic experience.

SOCIALIZATION AND BASIC MANNERS - Controlled, safe, and gradual exposure to the world around us, as well as encouraging positive interactions between your dog and and others (four- and two-legged!) Training includes, but is not limited to polite greetings, proper leash etiquette, exposure to multiple types of people, places, noises, and more.

ENRICHMENT FACILITATION - Weekly or bi-weekly one-on-one sessions designed to help keep your dog busy and happy by creating a daily regimen of mental stimulation. Sessions include games, craft ideas, sniff walks, introduction to new foods, toys, tricks, and more!

GROUP TRAINING AND INTRODUCTIONS - Facilitating and supervising and dog-to-dog introductions and interactions for playdates or new pets in a multi-dog home.

IN-HOME PUPPY PRESCHOOL - We help you to create a strong bond between you and your new puppy. Among many other things, we cover behaviors and problem prevention, crate training, potty training, leash walking, recall, enrichment, and socializing. Socializing includes safely exposing your puppy to various textures, noises, environments, and situations. (Availability may be restricted due to COVID, please contact us).

THERAPY/WORKING DOG - Preparing you and your pet for the Canine Good Citizen Test or Public Access preparation and therapy visits by teaching advanced manners, desensitizing, conditioning, and generalizing in highly active and social situations.

Now that you've come to a great place for dog training, it's time to get the supplies you'll need to be ready for the fun! The more prepared you are, the more you'll be able to focus on learning with your puppy.
Below is a list of what you'll need and some of our favorite product recommendations which can be purchased in-store at EarthWise Pet Marysville, or online! Be sure to check with your dog trainer about what else you might need to bring along, or their preferences for what types of leashes, harnesses, etc.
Collars or Harnesses
Making sure your dog’s collar fits correctly is important! Too tight and your dog can’t breathe properly, too loose and they might slip their collar during class or get caught in other puppy’s mouths during play. Harnesses should also be properly fitted and your first day of dog training class shouldn't be your dog's first time wearing their harness! Many harnesses are designed to help teach your puppy not to pull and can help with your dog's training.
Some of our favorite brands for collars and harnesses include Lupine, Buckle Down, or Ruffwear. These are all reputable brands for long-lasting, comfortable, and safe pet supplies that are perfect for your dog training classes here. Also, don't forget to get a Training Tab as well! Leashes and Leads
We don't want your puppy running off during training! It can certainly happen with these rambunctious, happy furry family members we're got, especially in a highly stimulating environment. With so much going on, you'll need a reliable leash and lead to ensure that your dog stays close to you when you need them to, as well as wander safely when they're allowed to!
We recommend a 6-foot leash as well as a 15-foot (or longer) lead. Our recommended brands would, again, be Lupine, RC Pet, or Buckle Down! Feel free to bring your dog into the store (we would love to meet them!) in Marysville and one of our team members will be happy to find some products that fit your puppy perfectly.
Accessories
Can't forget to accessorize! These additional items will help your puppy training days go smoother and we highly recommend them. Some of these accessories might be a special toy or a Kong (great for engagement) that your dog particularly loves. We recommend tug toys, Kongs, or another dog toy that he or she does not have access to all the time.
Shop All Dog Training Products
Dog training treats, treat pouches, and toys are great as tangible rewards for good dog behavior! Some other accessories we recommend are poop bags (with a handy dispenser), a training whistle (two-tone is preferred), and even a clicker! These auditory signals will be great for helping dogs connect commands to behaviors.
